This project was started in , electronics and control loops. Because I always need a cool project to learn new things, it was clear that something that can fly had to be built.
The project started as a "tricopter-only" project, but as I wanted to build smaller vehicles with more payload capacity, I decided to make some quadrotor, hexacopter and Y6 hexacopter firmwares too. My main interest is to build very small MAVs that fly as good as larger ones (or even better) and that can be controlled by wireless video link. I also experimented with autonomous flight in GPS-denied areas (video), and with GPS assisted autonomous hover (video).

My next FPV racing machine...

Here are some renderings of my latest frame concept. It has a very small frontal area and should reach high speeds. The diagonal motor distance is 210 mm and I will use 5.5 inch propellers (Graupner Race-Prop or C-prop).

  1. Hi, I follow youy test, and wonder if adding some "tail" in addition to the nose would help aerodinamically, compensating its weight with better performance ?

  2. Mal wieder ein sehr cooles Design!

    Ich habe eine Frage zur MM6: Hattest du eigentlich Probleme mit Vibrationen etc.? Da die Props ja doch sehr nah beieinander sind.
    Ich überlege nämlich schon seit 5 Jahren die mal nachzubauen ;)

      Nein vibrationsprobleme hatte ich keine. Die Propeller drehen ja an den Blattspitzen in die gleiche Richtung, da sollte ein kleiner Abstand keine Probleme machen.

      Ich hatte nämlich bei einem größeren Quad das Problem, aber der hatte auch 10" Props.
      Dann werde ich mal das zeichnen und bauen anfangen. Ich schicke dir Bilder wenn ich fertig bin. :)

    With what thickness of a layer the case is printed? Or it is not the FDM print?
    Whether you will share STL files of the case?
